Spend a week in Tuscany, cycling rolling hills, enjoy food, and wine: from the Val d'Orcia UNESCO protected site, via Crete Senesi and Chianti area, visiting some of the most enchanting medieval towns like Pienza, Montalcino and Siena.
This itinerary will be a special combination of the classic Heart of Tuscany enriched by some spectacular rides, cooking lesson to discover the secret of Tuscan cuisine, taste the fantastic tuscan dishes and world famous wines like Brunello di Montalcino and Chianti.

Day after day, pedaling among olive groves and vineyards, you’ll be immersed into the spirit of L'Eroica vintage cycling event, where people from all over the world come to Gaiole to ride the gravel roads of Tuscany and seek out the authentic roots of this fantastic sport, with its great, popular heart, and rediscover the beauty of fatigue and the thrill of conquest.

28 September 2020 - Benvenuti in Toscana

Individual arrival at Hotel Casanova, typical Tuscan structure that offers an all-round panorama of the Val d'Orcia and the medieval village of San Quirico d’Orcia, at just a short distance from the Hotel.
Check-in into your room and welcome aperitif to introduce the Tuscany Bike Tour and L'Eroica week.

29 September 2020 - Pienza, Montepulciano and Monricchiello

50 km - Elevation gain 910 meters (longer option: 62 km)

The landscapes of the Val d'Orcia region, one of the most beautiful place in Tuscany and UNESCO world heritage site - Visit of Pienza, the "ideal" city of the Renaissance time, also famous for its Pecorino cheese - A quick stop at Montepulciano, with its winding streets and squares - Monticchiello, a small medieval and charming town - Bagno Vignoni, a small medieval village developed around its hot springs that were used by the Romans centuries before - Take a relax break from the cycling journey before dinner.

30 September 2020 - Montalcino and Brunello region

51 km – Elevation gain: 990 meters

Climbing towards Castiglione d’Orcia and Rocca d’Orcia, the beautiful landscapes will compensate the challenging ascent - We'll reach the Brunello region and visit the Abbey of Sant’Antimo, one of the most beautiful romanic church in Italy - Wine tour and tasting in a Brunello winery before to climb up to Montalcino - Visit of Montalcino, medieval town surrounded by vineyards and beuatiful view on the valley - Back to San Quirico d'Orcia and rest ot the day in relax.

Final dinner in Val d'Orcia before the Chianti region.


1 October 2020 - Crete Senesi region

56 km – Elevation gain: 700 meters (longer option: 64 km)

An unforgettable ride surrounded by the views of the Crete Senesi to the edge of the Chianti - The Crete Senesi region, where badlands and biancane characterize the landscape in this part of Tuscany - A short break at Asciano with its churches and museums - Lunch and wine tour and tasting in a Chianti winery located at Castelnuovo Berardenga.

Dinner and accommodation at Villa Curina Resort, little sixteenth century village full of history and fascination.


2 October 2020 - Siena, Monteriggioni and Castellina in Chianti

60 km - Elevation gain: 1100 meters

The passage in Siena, with its medieval city center, the Duomo and Piazza del Campo - The Montagnola Senese, riding through woods and crossing the Via Francigena pilgrimage route - Monteriggioni, known throughout the world for its extraordinary well-preserved old town and walls - Climbing up to direction Chianti region and Castellina in Chianti - Lunch and wine tour and tasting in a winery along the route.
After the wine tasting and lunch, back to Villa Curina with our van.

3 October 2020 - Road to Gaiole in Chianti

Tour loop to discover part of the Eroica route to Gaiole in Chianti, during the ride you can improve your confidence with the vintage bike, also on the gravel roads - Visit of the Eroica festival and vintage market - Lunch along the road and back to Villa Curina.

Participation to the Cena degli Eroici in Gaiole in Chianti last event before the ride!


4 October 2020 - L'Eroica

Early wake up early private transportation to Gaiole in Chianti to participate at the 2020 edition of L’Eroica - You can choose between different routes: 209 km, 135 km, 106 km, 81 km, 46 km.

At the end of the race pasta party and private transportation back to the hotel fot the final dinner.
